Thanks for the info I had heard little detail about it on myspace but was waiting for someone to give a lil bit more info here. I'll give Gareth a call tomorrow. Hope everythings okay.

The way I like to think about my crash is if I had lowsided like that on the street, my runoff would have been a little different. Perhaps a telephone pole could've split me in half. . . .

i still feel that way... and i just did my first track day. i only rode half the day so i split the price, I paid $100. Even after doing that... i can actually say i'd have just as much fun riding the street (i rode to work this morning) as i did riding the track but it doesn't cost me $100 or more. i just enjoy being on the bike

I enjoy doing both! Now that I have a little break from track riding I put street tires back on so I can ride on the street again!

I would not give up either aspect of riding! I LOVE riding track but I could never have just a track bike only!

you can never push it to the limit on the street and feel somewhat safe....i'd rather lower the risk....but just like anything else, the track isn't for everybody.

thats why i ride track only. plus i cant afford all the speeding tickets and gettin the bike out of impound, police bribery, the insurance costs after all said items, and the license surcharges.

but i don't push my bike to the limit... and i wasn't crazy about pushing my limit on the track either... i can't afford the crash either way and riding at 85% of my limit on the track, i'm still more likely to wreck there... i had more "oh moments" in a day at the track than i have in 1 year on the street

Nothing wrong with that. The track is not for everyone. If you can't afford to wad your bike up and walk away from it, you should definitely think 3-4 times before pushing the limits.

I have a cash-only policy on bikes. It means I buy used, and not always pretty, bikes. But if I go 6 weeks and don't ride for some reason, I don't have to feel bad about making payments on it, and if I wad it up, as long as I can walk away, then I'm OK. No loans to sort out, no insurance to mess with, etc. I'll just start saving up for another one.
