so ... how do you know you're a track addict?

When you replay all the turns at MSRH and GSS in your head as a way to relax during a trip to the dentist.

When you force out every last drop a pee before a session so you won't lose anytime or be thinking about it on the track.

When stuffing somebody doesn't sound perverted.

When I think about gridding up and blasting into T1, my pulse nearly doubles. It can happen anywhere......driving, eating, or the worst right when I'm trying to go to sleep. Should be over it by now, but happens every time I think of it. That's my version of a cardio work out.

Thinking about track time right before bedtime.....is a no no.

For me.....if I do......I can just forget about sleeping for a good little while.

luckily my loving boss lady has SOMEWHAT of an understanding about me goin to the track so much. she knows i love ridin on the track....so she would never take that away from me. although i get guilt trips all the time.....i got used to it.

she'd rather see me at the track than on the streets any day of the week.

You're an addict when you plan everything around the track day.

So how expensive is it anyway, assuming you have a decent bike for it?

I need to know what I'm in for, cause I'm really thinking I'm going to love it, at least based on how much fun I've had buying my first bike and learning to ride it this past couple months.

So...can anyone break it down if you went once a month (is that too little...too much? I don't know squat at this point), what kind of accessories you end up getting (good leathers I know are a must, but what else?), fees, maintenance, what kind of shat breaks on the bike and all that.

It really hit home in the last session on Sunday. I was in the novice group, and several people had called it a day already, so there weren't as many bikes on the track. I was one of the first ones out, and the spacing worked out just perfect. I ran nearly the entire 20 minutes with no traffic. I passed a couple people, but not many, and I didn't get held up in the corners. I honestly don't even remember if I got passed or not.

But running with no traffic, I got into a nice groove, and there was nothing but me, the bike, and my reference points. Off the gas at the end of the wall...turn at the cone...brake at the skid mark...turn in just after the scratched up bit of pavement...hold the line just outside the first seam line in the pavement and turn in late... etc.

20 minutes of Zen. The checkered flag sucked.

Memorial Day. LSTD. GSS. I'm there.

I think I confirmed to myself that I'm a track-o'-holic now that I have spare set of Chicken Hawk standard tire warmers incase the Pole Positions ever fail.
