Take all of your pain meds ON TIME as scheduled...once you get behind, its VERY difficult (physiologically)to get it under control again. There is absolutely no reason for it to be incredibly painful. If you find that the meds aren't working well...tell your doc and insist that he try something different for you or add something to your regimine.

I just meant the therapy is painful. After the first couple of days the constant pain goes away enough to just need tylenol. I have a lot of left over pain meds.

You'll do fine...ask for Versed before the surgery from your anesthesiologist and don't be shy about requesting more pain meds after...seriously. Keep us posted

Hold on, Ill look it up

EDIT:

Midazolam (MID-ay-zoe-lam)is used to produce sleepiness or drowsiness and to relieve anxiety before surgery or certain procedures. It is also used to produce loss of consciousness before and during surgery. Midazolam is used sometimes in patients in intensive care units in hospitals to cause unconsciousness. This may allow the patients to withstand the stress of being in the intensive care unit and help the patients cooperate when a machine must be used to assist them with breathing.

Midazolam is given only by or under the immediate supervision of a doctor trained to use this medicine. If you will be receiving midazolam during surgery, your doctor or anesthesiologist will give you the medicine and closely follow your progress.

When I had surgery, They gave me a shot and i felt really drunk.. I just sat there laughing when my parents said bye, when I was going in. I think this is what they gave me.

That's exactly what they gave you...It has a retrograde amnestic effect, meaning that you won't remember stuff for a few minutes before you get it until after it wears off...works like a champ. It will also make you feel GOOOOOOOOOOOD...
