Depends on where I am... but I never leave the helmet unstrapped to the bike... if i leave it on, then I strap it the the bike... I had a friend that had his helmet stolen from a group of bikes... apparently his helmet was the only one they wanted...

If someone is going to cut the strap, the helmet becomes useless...

I would agree with most of everyone it would depend on where I was at and if someone steals it then the hlemet would be no good anyway so...

lots of em

the helmet thievery does not happen at HD gatherings, seriously, thats a metric punk type doing that stuff.
I always leave my bucket on the bike and its a decent full face. I remember being at a bandido party once and there were leather jackets, etc laying all over the bikes, my buddy left his keys to his scoot on the seat and they were there when we found the bikes later that evening.
I mean, who's gonna steal at a bandido gatherin'?
even everywhere I go, I leave the helmet stuck on the sissy bar, just sitting there, never stolen and never no venemous critters took home in it either

I bought a combination lock/cable from cycle gear. It was cheap and it's small enough to fit under the seat cowl. It has a velcro strap to keep it rolled up nice and neat. A thief would have to cut the cable to get my helmet/jkt. Everyone should invest in one or something similar.

I'm kinda too paranoid to leave my helmet on my bike.
Not only that.. I have a fear that a venomous spider will crawl inside my helmet when I leave it on the bike. And by the time I come back and put the helmet on my head.. itll bite me and kill me
You will ride a m/c on Houston roads? But you're afraid of spiders?

I don't like to carry my helmet around, I usually drop them when doing so. I lock it to the bike and activate my bike's motion sensor in case someone does try to take it.

my suzis have the locks for up to two helmets.

But if it is in plain view of myself I wont lock it. Give me a reason to provide the world a service and demonstration of darwism.

Of course, I dont use super expensive helmets and I guess if someone stole mine they would feel bad with the painted 'caligonetx' on the side. Then again, if they need a helmet that bad, its for the better I guess.

ya i got a real bad reaction from a rental cop at bank wearing my helmet in he started edging for his taser i started to take it off so dip stick would feel better and he continued to itch and actually started to clear leather i guess he thought i was gonna hit him with it but he replaced it in its holster after i shot him a dirty look

I lock mine to my bike. When I carry it around it's a PIB. I bang it into walls (had to replace the visor) It takes up room (on the table, under the table, spare chair...) and I have other things to carry thanks.

I don't buy the super expensive helmets either as I like to replace them ~ Often... (Been riding 8 months and I now own 3...)

I also think the second comment works for those bibles in the hotel rooms. Maybe they need it worse than you. (And GROSS - who want's someone elses sweat soaked, bug filled helmet.)
