DO NOT USE STARTING FLUID!!!

You will ruin the carbs.

The three ingredience... Fuel, Spark and Compression.

Check your spark(away from the starter fluid) but almost certainly a fuel problem. Even with low or misbalanced compression it should try to kick as it turned over or run rough. Can you see fuel being pulled down from the engine vacuum while cranking?

check if ur getting a spark. ?
make sure u cleaned out the carbs not just spray some carb cleaner in the bowl. actually bust off the jets and blow through them. make sure everything is working right. hit the throttle with the bowl off? idk just give it a rundown.

not really no help but take the carbs to get rebuilt... and check plugs and check for fire.

you cannot really "half " clean the carbs.

If you changed the mains did you even check the pilots?? How did you set the main jets you installed? did you run them all the way in then back out?
clean you plugs also, if you ran it too rich you have probably fouled them.

I can also take it off your hands for a few bones...
