Obviously a internet mechanic. I see several mistakes.
1) did not use the crank tdc lock bolt to hold crank in place. This is a must. I dont care who you are. That crank will move and you will not get them correct. USE THE DAM LOCK!!. Thats what it is there for. After all ktm did design and build the bike. Not not this garage guy..
2) The spec is 0.12mm or 0.0047 in. He said about 5ths. From my experiance. I would set the intake at 5ths and the exhaust at 6ths. The exhaust gets hotter and therfor takesup more clearance when hot.
3) Mistake. He said 10 foot pounds torque on the lock nut. WRONG!! 8 foot pounds. and his method of six point nut . Thats BS. When you torque the nut it changes the clearances 8ft pds max . You can strip the nut also evertime you over tighten it.
4) Nowfor the biggy. You saw him check the exhaust valves but did you see him adjust them. NO!!. So try to adjust them with the RADS on. You must use the guages that he had because it is so tight.

Wes

Take it to Scott's Greg! And give me a call I want to help work on it. Valves are easy.
