rider down at 2351 and Blackhawk

he was up walkin around and talkin to the cops, looked like he was ok. this is gettin ridiculous, i am pushin for the concealed weapons for all riders. the people in cages are using a deadly weapon and threatening us on a daily basis, maby if the tables were turned a lil, i.e. shoot a fiew tires out, bullet hole in a fiew fenders, the word will get out there and they will start payin attention. I speak from experience, before I went down the other day cause someone pulled out on me, and with construction debris in the road, I had a guy try to drive over my rear tire purposely on the Kemah bridge, I was barely able to get out from under him, then he had the nerve to call the cops on me. I am not gonna quit riding because these a$&holes want to push us around. I am changing my riding habits and when/where I ride, but I will not stop completely for them. Sorry for the rant, but when is enough enough, someone has to put their foot down.

but was the rider-down as the result of a idiot cager? how was his bike? did you help out? the accused driver of incident around or did he flee?

on your experience what did the cops end up doin?

i was told by a friend, wasnt there, traffic was backed up. car was worse than the bike, the bike didnt look too bad, and he was on the scene, so apparently the cager was bein stupid and the bike just got in the middle of someone elses bad day. in my incident, when i was hit, then the cager ran, as he called the cops, i stopped and called them, as the cager drove away, and the cops never showed. like i said, no one else is standing up for us, so either we bend over n take it, or we fight fire with fire.

+1 from experience (off topic) this one fool tried to jack me at gun point and what did i do? sure i gave him my watch/wallet/versace's but as he let his guard down i pull my piece one on him! my gun was bigger than his gun and he started yellin "dude chill, chill my gun its not real is a b.b gun...oh ". i made him give me his wallet and kept his id/school id and social sec card. a punk 16 yr old kid.
anyway my point is that if we do start shootin and what not they do have a car and they might end up runnin us over or like in my case they might have a bigger gun than us.

nah there is no need for that we are all like family here or in a strange kind of way, like in prison we all have to watch each others back because this motorcycle lifestyle of ours can get a lil crazy at times

well glad everyone was ok. but please put the rant about being armed and having no one on your side in a different thread than the downed rider. I started reading it concerned and then was somewhat angry, almost felt like you used his bad experience so more people would read your rant. also, guns wouldn't be the answer. 1) how many wrecks would be caused by people trying to ride one handed and aim, 2) how many innocent vehicles could get involved? 3) that happens all the time to people in cars, and when i hear on the news that someone shot another person due to road rage, i just wish the person wasn't such an idiot and could control their anger, happens, it's a risk you take with riding. I don't think you should have a gun at all, much less when you're on a bike when the odds are much more likely that someone will take advantage of having a bigger car or misjudge your speed or do many things that can get you in a bad mood. you just have to let it go and remember to enjoy riding and life in general.

Please explain how legally carrying a firearm on a bike will correlate with lower motorcycle accidents?

Nevermind, I just finished reading and saw that you want to "shoot out some tires" and put "bullet holes in some fenders"

You're a fool and for the sake of the rest of us keeping the gun rights we have I urge you not to purchase a weapon of any sort.

Hopefully the rider down is unharmed :/:

all i was sayin is its like we are targets to the cages, and we need to find a way to even the odds, not that " caryin a gun is the only means", just that when you use a 3000 lb car as a projectile, how else are you to protect yourself. the streets are flooded today with more and more ignorant drivers, and riders, and someone needs to stand up and speak out, cause in reality, we have no other option to even the odds. not that im a radical gun totin thug, just i refuse to relinquish my rights to use the same roadways as the cages, i pay taxes too and there needs to be some sort of organization to bring these issues to the publics view. sorry for gettin agitated, its just im tired of hearin about more and more of these each day, it seems like it is gettin to be a more frequent occurrence, and if it isnt stopped, there will be none of us to say anything. so sheep, keep followin the heard, as for me, its life or death out there, and i chose life, im not a fair weather rider and i dont have a bike cause its cool, its a way of life and i refuse to change for anyone. and this is about the rider, and all the rest of us still on the streets. what affects one, affects all. he was up and talkin to the cop, but like in my situation, the cop was probably just checkin to see if he could write any tickets to fill his quota. i was just usin this as a jump off to get others opinion and now i see

your question was "how else are you to protect yourself"....

1 word to answer your question...."awareness"

be aware of your surroundings and always have a way out. why should "we" change our ways because of dumb cagers or ignorant riders? well, that's because the few of us that care about our lives will do what it takes to enjoy what we do, and keep it as safe as possible.

remember, cars account for 85% of registered vehicles on the road (somethin like that, don't quite remember the actual percentage). so either be aware or be road kill.

that's exactly why i don't ride on the streets anymore. i for one cannot control my speeding and have a very short temper.

something only you would say my friend

but i agree, having a gun after getting nearly ran over...your adrenaline is going so much, you have a gun in your waistband, your natural instinct is going to be "shoot this fukka!"

We already have a bad rep as sport bike riders. You want to make it worse by being pro-active in the worst way possible?

So much for you trying to maintain your "way of life"

freaking retards and their "passion".
