It is best to check with the different orgs, because they all run things a little differently.

It doesn't take long to figure out you don't belong with the noobs if you're "expert" level. Honor system to an extent. However, if it's a good organization, you'll be pulled quickly if you're out of your element.

How about $300 for a brand-new set of AStar leathers, size... 42!

I bought 'em off a guy here who was getting out of the track scene (paid $300, so thats what I'm asking). They are blue with some silver... don't know the model but they have the aero hump in the back.

They were going to be a spare set, but... I've just never used 'em.

Some guy (Andy maybe... I forgot) has first dibs but if he doesn't want 'em, they're all yours.

This is very true. I have only run with Lone Star Track Days and Ride Smart. Both are quick to move riders from one group to another based on what the instructors or marshals see first hand on the track. This can mean moving someone up in a class or down in a class, based solely on what they see first hand on the track. If you have never attended a track day, go for the spode group. If you get out there and are a fast mf, they will move you. If not, you will be fine. Most important thing, talk to the instructors!!!! I have yet to meet a . They want to help you improve your skills, probably more than you will want to initially. Of all the people I have met at the track, I would say that 99% are super people and are willing to do anything they can to help and encourage you. I have been doing this for two years now and love every minute of my hit off of the track pipe. Each organization will have their requirements posted under track day requirements, just check it out. Just have fun, but do it safely.

What do you mean by track ready? You got 6K+ miles under your belt on a 900cc bike ... sounds like you've got ample seat time. You can rent leathers for 100.00 which includes gloves and boots. Just bring a mechanically sound bike but leave your ego behind and you'll do fine.

Most orgs have novice classes at every track day ... then there's LMS which runs noob specific days. So far, my only experience has been with LMS and I have nothing but raves for those guys.
