uh oh

I wish i wasn't such a noob, but I am. I rode my bike for the first time since I laid it down in february, and am a little worried. I'd like to say it all is just that I haven't ridden in a long time, but I think that's the voice of cheapness talking and not wanting to know how much of my summer will be spent getting my bike back to her old glory. First I feel like it is lacking a little bit of power accelerating in first and second gear. Also, it's making a noise that i can only describe as it sounds like a small piece of wax paper or plastic is stuck in there and getting blown around by wind, imagine a small piece of plastic in the spokes of a bicycle i guess. Also, I think there is something wrong with my tires... I had planned to replace them anyways though, I'll check the pressure in the morning. Anyone think they have an idea what may have happened? my bike went down at about 50 mph and slid quite a ways on it's left side. I just want to make sure it's safe, i'd take it in to motorcycles unlimited, but I'm all the way in pasadena with no truck or trailer and can't really make the hour trip out there. Does anyone know any good places around pasadena? I had heard pasadena motorcycle discount tires wasn't very good, and the kawasaki dealership right here either seemed unorganized when I went in, or the stuff they did know offhand was very very expensive.

you coulda knocked some plastic loose. that could account for the "flapping" noise. but its near impossible to tell without seeing the bike. ill take a look at it for you if you want. im no expert, but i have a pretty good ear.

If this is the first time riding it since February you definitely need to check tire pressure.
