Just looked it up in the Texas Criminal and Traffic Law, important parts are bolded:

Sec. 106.05 Posession of Alcohol by a Minor.
(a) Except as provided in Subsection (b) of this section, a minor commits an offense if he possesses an alcoholic beverage.
(b) A minor may possess an alcoholic beverage:
.........
(2) if the minor is in the visible presence of his adult parent, guardian, or spouse, or other adult to whom the minor has been committed by a court

Pretty awesome, I was going to say I think you're wrong but I decided to check my facts first...learn something new everyday

Yup, wouldn't hurt to carry it around in your pocket if you and your girl ever want to go do some drinking at a bar, etc. I would put money on it that 90% of waitresses and bartenders(and probably lots of cops, no offense...can't memorize all the laws) don't know that law.

yep. thats why i carry a printout of the lighting restriction laws in my tail in case a officer gives me about my leds. there is alot of codes to remember. could be a mistake on their part. so it never hurts to know the law.

i was gonna add that same fact ^ the law says this and that but any restaraunt can refuse to serve an under age person. it doesn't matter whom ur with, who ur married to,or if ur parent or legal gaurdian is with u. just depends on the mngr's mood
