Because I ride it to work.Actually the SS1000 guys backdate the clutches on their 06 and 07 1000s to the 02 style to get rid of the back torque limiters

street rode my busa and raced it in super gas (9.90) class for 8 years with stock clutch, in fact still has the original clutch since 99, its all about clutch control, I,ve seen guys smoke brand new clutches in 1 pass, goobers, I,ve racer Gilbert for YEARS, he is purdy good, but there are LOTS of good riders out there, like Matthews himself, there will ALLWAYS be somebody faster on any given day

This is true! For the time being it's Gilbert, by far! He's been racking in wins!

We were at 1/8 only cause 1/4 was closed due to rain! Hit him up on Psychobike.com, i'm sure he'll be willing for a showing.

Extensions and it's lowered, but plan on slamming it hopefully by this w/e 2

Actually a 3.93 eighth mile should be over 200mph

There was no way this car was doing 275mph in the 1/8 mile track, top fuels are hitting 212 in the 1/4, IN THE 1/4

Clutch life is all about the gearing and the rider/weight etc..... Out of about 700 passes, I only went through about 4 sets of clutches and maybe mixed a few together to get the stack height right...That was through the course of about 7yrs....Also had 30k street miles. Stock wheelbase, slammed and strapped I would go 1.55-1.58 60's, 4.00-4.20 330s with a 2500 rpm launch. I was about 165lbs suited back then though.....I am about 185-190lbs suited now....

Tim, I used to race with all those guys also back in the day, 00-03 was the era for good racing in baytown. Peck, Gilbert, Lemos, Dunham, Freddy Love, Big Paul(Swisher), Marvin, Wash, Chuck and Lee.......man those were good times.... Unfortunately, my pocket book couldn't keep up with everyone elses..

I would like to get back into racing some again.....Just can't afford to tear my 1000 up since my busa is still down...:/:

MMMM...NO..... My busa runs 130-132mph in the 1/8. I bet those top alcohol(outlaw 10.5) cars are running 185-190mph+ in the 1/8" if they can keep it hooked. That camaro that was there makes 2800hp.
