The only advantages that I see from comming from 250gp are: the pilots tend to be smaller, have good knowledge of the tracks, the technique of carrying more corner speed transfers over to the 800cc riding. Other than that, your still learning a bike with twice the power. Switching from 2stoke to 4.

Now can they compete??? We will find out shortly.... I believe Spies is moving up in 09 not sure if Miladin will ever leave (?????) He is not exactly a young buck anymore.
Mladin has stated he's not sure he'll stick around if Spies goes elsewhere.
He' wants #7 and Spies wants to go out with a championship. Their both putting down hard.

That was a wicked come back for Ben. I believe he will do well in GP in '09 in part due to his racing with Mladin. He's not intimidated easily and seems to have the desire to go international. Bens biggest hurdle will be his massive fear of flying. GP flies alot!!
Next years AMA changes shold break up the Suzuki dominance we've endured for the past 4-5 years. It isn't good for the series in my opinion to have one such dominant team. Makes me wondeer how thay do so well in AMA Superbike, and WSBK, but suck so bad in GP? HHHHMMMMMMMM....

I hope he heals well. I really want to see him in the US GPs this year along with Spies. Those races are going to be the shiznit! Also, how cool would that be to race against your brother in Motogp?! Kinda like the Barber or Manning brothers from the NFL. Daddy Hayden must be like, "Yes, I excellence."

I agree with Buck about Maladin helping Spies build himself but I still see him making too many mistakes at this stage. I just don't see him being consitantly competitive with Suzuki next year. Maybe if he was on a dif bike. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I don't give a what anyone says (I'm not ' anyone, just saying I enjoy it) about AMA Superbike being "boring" for knowing who's gonna be on top, both races were exciting and great to watch!

I know why (I think) that 'Zook isn't on top of MotoGP like they are with AMA and WSBK, I think they know that they will sell many more bikes with production style racing than the MotoGP, and that's where they spend their money. Maybe not, but it makes sense to me- 'Zook sells a lot of bikes in the US and Japan that way, and they haven't been competitive in MotoGP for a long time.

Watching the TIVO of the SS race, should be a good one!

Almost forgot, all of they Haydens raced CMRA. The list of famous and not so famous racers that either raced with or got their start in the CMRA is looooooong and goes back decades.

That race was awesome....Ben rode his off those last few laps. He was getting Rossi on Matt's . Sliding it in an out of the corners, smoking the rear etc. I haven't seen him ride so hard ever. That draft is the same thing that Matt did to him at Daytona last year. Good on Ben for pulling it off.

Tommy's update
According to his manager, Steve Dictarow, Suzuki rider Tommy Hayden had surgery last night on a badly dislocated left ankle suffered in his crash at Fontana. Dictarow said that efforts to manually put the ankle back into place (ouch!) were not successful and Hayden had to have it done surgically.

The prognosis is good for Hayden's ankle; he should have full range of motion and strength, according to Dictarow. He also said it was far too early to be predicting when Hayden would return to racing action.

soooooooo, both brothers out
