LMAO! I always got a kick out of your handle too

Jose and BS, thanks for posting up, you are right, nobody's perfect, but what really tells you something about a shop is what they do about it if there is a problem - but you've got to give them a chance first..

Anyways, thanks for bringing me out of the lurking mode, y'all are fun bunch

ERRRR WRONG.... i had the bike for 3k miles when the clutch went out, i asked him the FRIDAY how to PULL THE COVER OFF, not how to pull the clutch out. ( he said i should just look at it before i waste my time and money and bring it to him) so i get the COVER off and i see broken DISKS i tell him ill take it to him in the morning and that was it... next morning i took it to YAMAHA first to see if i could get WARRENTY for the clutch. WHEN THEY DISASSEMBLED the clutch FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE MY MOTOR WAS BUILD AT METRIC. the noticed that the plates did not come of in the FACTORY PART NUMBER ORDER. i called andy and said WTF why would they be installed in the wrong order he said i qoute "that is bullshit those disks are all the same and can go in any order, they just are trying to blame someone/ somthing else." after that i asked yamaha to show me that their are diffrent part numbers for diffrent disks. they showed me the micro fish on the parts. AND SECOND, the only thing that i tooked off the bike before i brought it to his shop was the radiator resivor and the fairings. so EXPLAIN to me why i was missing the breathing hoses for the gas tank and an oilpan bolt and a exhaust bolt to hold the rear to the frame???????????

Andy did your motor work several months ago. And did a good job. Then you call him that Saturday and tell him that you were pulling wheelies when your clutch let go, but wouldn't/couldn't bring it to the shop because you are such a great mechanic yourself and wrench on your own stuff all the time. Ok, fair enough. Then you called him a dozen time that day asking about how to pull the clutch out, what to look for, how to install it. And THEN, after having him talk you through all that on the phone for nothing, you have the gall to call him from some Yamaha dealership and ask whether he should bring the bike to Andy.

So let me get this straight. You blow the clutch pulling wheelies, which has NOTHING to do with motor work done several months before, then you pull it apart and reinstall it incorrectly all the while blaming it on the shop but not giving them a chance to inspect it or stand behind their warranty, then you waste their time getting free advice all day and you STILL take it to another dealership - what the did you expect him to say?!

If you were a man about it you would have gone by the shop and actually talked to him face to face and sorted it out like a man, instead of breaking something, being too afraid to admit your own incompetence and blaming it all on someone else. Metric ALWAYS stands behind its work, whether it is suspension, motor or anything else, and if you treat them with respect they will go out of their way, above and beyond their duty, to make sure you are on the road safe and sound. Taking advantage of their time and then taking your bike to someone else without even giving them a chance to look at it is disrespectful to say the least, and smells of fraud to me.

My $.02 from someone who actually witnessed the whole thing. Now be a man and call him, 713-334-8030 and work it out. The rest of you are welcome to call him in person as well and find out for yourselves. There are few people in this town, let alone mechanics, who are as honest to the point of stupid as Andy is.

all those 5&6s in a row after the 12&4 part.......

you thrash on your bike, and wonder why parts falls off? :laughing6

i'll still trust all my work at Metric over ANY dealership.

accidents happen but i know efamng dropped alot of money out his pocket after I RECOMMENDED metric to him.

accidents happen and things get forgotten or lost like bolts on headers, oil pans, etc. i dont think andy did it on purpose but efamng should of took it to andy first and not yamaha BUT I see why efmang would go to yamaha and hope its covered under warranty since there was loose ends after andy.

you didnt address the missing bolts or the fact that maybe he had a reason for not wanting to take it back to andy.

i dont have any beef with metric FYI.

You brought the bike in for an engine case swap. You crashed your bike so hard that you took it home after the swap with all sorts of bits and pieces missing that you were going to buy and ebay and put together later.. You crashed it three months ago and NOW you are saying stuff is missing?! Come on, quit trying to shove the blame on someone else. As for Yamaha - I would love to see them stand behind their clutch warranty after they find out you pulled it apart and wheelied it to boot - they'll just laugh in your face..

Arturo - he spent a whole day on the phone with Andy pulling this thing apart and putting it back together.. He took it to Yamaha hoping to get a freebie - because he knew Andy had nothing to do with what was going on. Sad part is, had he actually brought the bike in Andy would have probably fixed it up at no charge anyway, just because he was a customer. Again, try to avoid jumping to conclusions before learning all the facts.

Did you either of you ever stop to think that maybe its not yawl but Yamaha trying to pull a fast one....

The main reason i ask i because my buddy bought a dirt bike from tejas and 2 weeks later after breaking in just like the manual said (i swear by it) it quit running we looked at everything couldnít figure it out so he took it to Yamaha.. The sleeve broke in side ya a chrome plated sleeve broke and the said it was and i quote "sorry sir it looks like you cold seized it) ya thatís what those said i was like wtf. It didnít seize and he always i mean always lets it worm up.....

I personally will never take my to a dealer ship.....

Just a thought because you both sound like your telling the truth..
