Procedure when stopped by police?

I did a search on here and google and I can't seem to find anything. I was wondering what the proper procedure is. In a car they want you to have both hands on the wheel and stay in the car til instructed otherwise.

I am a noob and I need to start sucking in all of this stuff.

first thing to do ...

dont get pulled over.. lol

if all else fails and you see the lights behind you

pull over in a safe place, and turn the bike off , kickstand down and I wouldnt take off the helmet or start unzipping jackets and stuff till you tell the cop your going to take off your helmet. dont want him to confuse you for reaching for something or you trying to use your helmet as a weapon.

first thing if you decide to, j/k, is to stop, shut off your bike, take out the key, kickstand down, helmet off, license, insurance, blah, blah, blah

just pull over...turn the bike off....put the stand down....and chill out. wait for the po-po to ask you for your license and insurance.

it's that simple.

So far I think the first reply is the best way to handle it. I was told before that handing over your info is kind of an omission of guilt and I've always waited til they ask. I don't plan on being pulled over but it can happen to anyone. I don't drive like a moron in my car and friendswood still stops me periodicly.

Been pulled over a few times. no tickets so far.

I always pull over somewhere safe. I'll put my kickstand down, and flip my visor up. Other then that, I wait for the cop to instruct me on what to do next. Usually just put my hands on the gas tank or somewhere noticeable.

Usually they'll tell you to jump off and take your helmet off. Just make sure they can always see what it is you're doing with your hands.
