Bayliss and Biaggi called up to help Ducati MotoGP

Quote:
DUCATI'S ailing MotoGP assault looks set to call in the big guns to try and get the red bike's development back on course - and it appears that the Italian bosses have already spoken to Troy Bayliss and Max Biaggi for help.
Livio Suppo, Sporting Director of the Ducati MotoGP effort said: It is not a an easy situation to try and solve our problems right now. We are considering having a test with Max and with Troy.

"We have two pilots in World Superbike with a lot of experience in MotoGP who have different styles. Both of them are very fast with our Superbike in their championship so it could be interesting to have their opinions on our MotoGP bike."

And it seems likely to happen, especially after Biaggi said that he would be happy to test for the Ducati team after revealing he is already in talks with the Italian squad. Ducati's official tester Vittoriano Guareschi is out of action after injuring himself in a crash during testing at Mugello, Vitto suffered a damaged coccyx in the tumble.

Biaggi told Gassetta dello Sport: "If I can help I'll be happy to. I've spoken with Suppo about it, and there's the will to do the test, let's see when and what kind of work they're thinking of. Even a two-day test can be useful.

"Mugello is a selective track, where Ducati have a lot of reference points. And for me it wouldn't be tricky to familiarize again with a MotoGP bike, I don't think it's so different from the ones I used to ride."

But mighty Max was eager to quash rumours about him returning to the MotoGP class, adding: "I've never thought about it. I'm in Superbikes and I enjoy myself there. I have no regrets about MotoGP.
Has an odour of desperation about it if you ask me

Ducati is having problems this year. They can't seem to get Melandri competative, and Stoner, well we will have to see what China holds for him if you ask me.:/:

Their looking for veteran Duc riders to do some testing to see if the problem is the bike, or maybe the riders. They know there is some inconstancies between the two riders and their set-ups. Like they said, maybe it's just the bike works well with Stoner and not Melandri. That's what they hope to discover with Biaggi and maybe Bayliss, is it the bike or the riders? If you ask me, the bike.
I don't see Stoner riding the way he has been if the bike was A-OK, and Melandri is good enough to where he should have been doing alot better then he has been.

Plus they have to use outside riders to do extra testing. Stoner and Melandri are only allowed to do the tests that have already been scheduled by the MotoGP Administrators.

I don't know about you, but I'm enjoying watching the good old Honda Yamaha battles!!!

Yea, I'm an Elias fan. So very disappointing this year......I was hoping for a top 5 finish at Estoril.:/:

He took the field, what was it, a year or two ago there. I almost my pants during that one! I think it was him, Rossi and Roberts going back and forth. Although I might be wrong............

He better hope that he breaks away early in the race, because both Pedrosa and Lorenzo have been opening a can of whoop late in the races this season. Except for Jerez with Lorenzo, wtf was that all about?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE Rossi fan, I just see things the way they are.

I expect and hope for a strong showing from Rossi at China, but like I said........there might be a can of whoop waiting for him.

It's that new Yamaha engine if you ask me. That along with the improvements with the tires, Yamaha has made strides in top speed!

The new Yamaha and Honda have definetly improved and i think it's because of the Bridgstone tires that Stoner is not doing so well. They should also just take traction control away from Moto GP.
