either sign up on LSTD.com for the trackday and cmra licensing school....

but dont forget, you can get a CCS License through Longhorn Motorcycle School, with that, you can just pay for the CMRA license (goes both ways)

no real requirements on taking the class...besides, pass the easy written test, and don't crash on the day of the licensing. with that you will become a "Prov Nov"....and to finish off your license you must do 2 seperate race weekends, with at least 2 races each of those weekends without crashing....and 2 days of cornerworking on a saturday, and on a sunday. that will take you to Novice status.

So you only have to take the school with either CCS or CMRA and the just get the license for the other?

Actually, I don't think CMRA recognizes the CCS license, but to clarify, email Nancy@cmraracing.com

You can race CCS with a CMRA license though, I know that much is true.

On the day you ride with LSTD, you can also sign up for the CMRA licensing school with Gabe or on-line. All the money for that goes to the CMRA, LSTD does not control pricing or see any money from it- it is just a service we provide to keep the sport up with new participants.

CMRA rule book

Riders who are not members of an organization participating in reciprocal membership and who do not wish to purchase a full license for participation in a CMRA event may purchase a one-weekend license. This option is available only one time per year. A second visit requires the purchase of a full season license, less the fee paid for the one-weekend license. Contingency will be available to these riders, but points will not be awarded. The rider must have proof of a current race license with an approved organization. Among the approved organizations are: AFM, AHRMA, AMA Pro, ASRA, CCS, CMRA (Canada), CRA, FIM, HRRC, LRRS, MRA, OMRRA, RACE, USGPRU, WERA, WMRRA and WSMC. Riders who participate with a one-weekend license are responsible for reading and complying with the CMRA rulebook. Riders participating with a one-weekend license will be gridded per CMRA rules, as listed elsewhere in this rulebook.

Not that I'm getting my licence, heck I'm still waiting on my first track day (I did just pick up leathers w00t!)
but do they have a novice class? where everyone racing is all n00b? or once you get you licence you just race with the big dogs like everyone else.

Yes they have a novice class but plenty of them can be considered big dogs. They did away with the prov nov race last year I believe. If you want a more gradual entry into racing come check out TMGP. Little Bikes, Big Fun!

races are split in class....

novice and expert

you will be gridded up along with other novices....some will have more experience than the other.....and the experts are the true big dogs. but you'll find some undercover big dogs in the novice classes as well.

heck i'd love to, I've been looking at that stuff for a while, but I've drained my spending cash limit for a little while, hopefully one of these days I'll pick up something small to tard out. unless someone needs a "team member" their willing to teach
here's an unrelated (or just a little off topic) question, is anybody running those cheap chinese bikes in TMGP?

^^^^ There ya go. I guess I should have actually looked instead of uming...

I think last time, Buck offered $100 which included the full track day and the license.
