Hey hooligan, you should check out what tiatool has. They Etymotic ER-6i in ear phones. They are sweet. Work great for helmets cause they barely stick out your ear at all. They are pretty pricey though. MSRP is $150. But they can be had new on ebay for < $100. They are very nice sound quality too, ranking up there with Shure. I am looking to get a pair soon.

I know $330 seems expensive but I had already spent about $200 trying to find earphones that were useable not counting the cost of the ipod. What I found out is that my ear canal is so irregular that no standard ear bud will stay in. I was so disatisfied that I was about to throw the ipod away wasting the $150 it cost. With the expensive earplugs I use it all the time. Therefore the choice was between a total of $500 for something I use a lot or $200 for something that sits in a drawer.

You may be faced with the same choice I had: throw the ipod away or spend more money than custom ear phones cost trying to find off the shelf ear buds that fit.

The Sony's that liberator has are the Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia Earbuds... for $10 more you can get the MDR-EX71LP which have a longer cord and a seperator... a decent deal for good headphones...

ok so heres the deal-i have 3 defferent helmets now (a shoei, arai and scorpian) different earbuds fit diffrent helmets. my ipod ones fit perfect in my arai but not in the scorpian. and those sony kind above ^^^^ style fit perfect in the scorpian. the shoei is too big but fits my ipod ones but i doubt it would fit those sony style ones if it did fit. so thats my conclusion to perfect earbuds, it depends on the lid

In-ear phones will solve this. They won't be affected by the helmet at all..

I had the same problem, the i pod earbuds either hurt or would fall out while riding. Then a dog chewed them up and that was that. So I got some Sony ear buds at Best Buy. Think they were like 26 bucks. They look similar to the i-pod ear buds, but feel a lot more comfortable, and dont fall out.

I use these ^, the ear clip thing keeps 'em from getting pulled out of your ear when you put a helmet on.
