Its a preference to everyone.

I have several jackets and choose different ones for different conditions. I do prefer the leather these days but for summer temps my lighter-designed JoeRocket leather breaths alot better even though it is fully stiched and has CE armour. It doesn't have the protection of my alpinestar w spinal guard in it but I also don't ride the same with it.

Not reading everything above. Make sure you try on the A* as well. They run small. I just bought the Armstrong Air Flow ($199.95)and its really snug, almost tight. I am hopping that it will stretch a little

Leather is hot, well at least i have read...i just bought a leather Dainese Jacket and it is not hot at all....last time i rode was about 85 degrees outside...i guess i haven't riden in true summer heat...but so far my leather is great....by the way my leather jacket is perforated from the front almost from neck to bottom...here is a pic...

I went for a leather as a first jacket since i am a noob and i want to be protected as much as i can...IMO...i think that was the best way to go. I dont plan to fall or anything...but if i do...well you know...
