I will be there with you as a first timer so I'm not sure, but I bet it would be safe to socialize during lunch....

The day is pretty laid back. 30min on the track, 30min off.

I bring my girlfriend all the time and she loves it. They'll be able to watch you from the catwalk, and you'll get to spend time with them during the 30min breaks.

They'll have a good time......make sure you bring some lawn chairs or something to sit on. Some food and drinks would be a good idea too.

Not sure about video ... but yes on the instruction. Your first time out will be a round robbin session with you in a small group following one instructor, after that it's a controlled every man (woman) for himself with the instructors closely watching over everyone.

Once in a while, if there is something they want to show you they'll let you know to follow them, also seek them out during the 30 minutes off and ask questions ... can't learn if you don't ask questions.

Oh ... and I see a lot of other peope bringing friends and familly to watch and stuff. It really can be a family event.

what time are you heading out? i will probably leave baytown about 6:30. i think registration/bike inspection starts at 7:30. last time the first run was at 9... you run for 30 minutes and have 30 minutes to rest... there is instruction throughout the day, but you still have time to chill between sessions... make sure you prep your bike on friday... its one less thing to worry about saturday morning... and bringing a chair is a good idea..

Looks like you guys got it covered. Lots of guys bring family and friends. We will have classroom between the morning sessions, then the pm is more about track time and application of what we are trying to teach you.

wow 2 people from Baytown. I'll make 3 I guess. It's really laid back compared to ridesmart events. You don't have to spend every free minute in a class room here. Last time I went which was the first for me with Longhorn was great! The instructors came and found me in the pit area to tell me I was doing good and when I had a question I asked. They pretty much seem to leave you alone I think if you want it, but will pull you aside if your doing something stupid or think you need help in an area. I bring my wife and kid and usually a friend shows up or my parents will come out to watch sometimes. It's is good time and your family will still get time with you, but you are there to learn so don't be a stranger to the instructors.
We'll see ya there.

you guys are gonna have a great time. no matter how hard it is, GET SOME SLEEP. you'll need all the energy you can get, believe me. you think 30 minutes of riding is nothing.....but i promise if you don't get some sleep, you won't make it by the end of the day. it's a full body workout and by the end of the day......

you'll be tired, hungry, sleepy, and have the biggest grin on your face.

take it easy and get to know the track in the morning....when the track is warm and some rubber is laid down on the track.....keep the throttle hammered or the brakes on hard.
