Can't we all just get along

What is the deal with guys who ride cruisers having animosity against guys who ride sports bikes?
A few guys who work with my wife ride cruisers and one of them asked if I wanted to come ride this weekend. And two of the guys were upset that a "crotch rocket" was going to be riding with the cruisers?

:dontknow:

I have no animosity over sport-bikers except when I see them flying at 90MPH down the freeway doing a wheelie. Not only are they endangering themselves, but those around them, too.

Otherwise, I'd ride with a Vespa rider!

I feel the same way about anyone regardless of what bike they ride.
Sports bikes doing wheelies down I-45 are just as as crusiers riding down I-10 @ +90mph with no helmet.

I wave at em all. Some seem shocked when they get the courtesy wave from a SS when they are on something other than. If I had the financial resources I'd have a big road cruiser with saddlebags etc (Goldwing), a sport bike, a dirt bike, a four wheeler, and a custom street bike with a big ole fat tire on the back. Bikes are like women...welcome in all shapes and sizes. Who doesn't want a different woman for every occasion?? :icon_bigg

Man I have zero animosity towards anyone on a bike. My best friend rides a Vento Scooter 50cc and I ride with him! I think scooters are fun as , they are like toys. I wave at anyone, talk to anyone, pass by everyone!

I'll plead guilty to waving and could care less if the guy/gal on the other bike waves back. Some peeps on a bike have an attitude when they're on 2 wheels, in their own feeble minds they're badasses. I'm sure that people like this spend 20 mins in front of the mirror looking at themselves from all kinds of angles after they've put their chaps on to see how beautiful they look. As far as I'm concerned made us all beautiful and it's their loss for being too stupid to know it.

I'll have to say that I get more waves from SS's than I do cruisers. It's kinda nice.

For the record, i like everyone too, but I wanted to provide some point of view.

I went on a poker run about a year ago that was open to every kind of bike. There was 2 guys on sport bike that were in my group. Those two guys kept weaving in and out of the cruiser guys! They would speed up and then slow down. Like flies. Some cruiser guys like sport bike guys fine as long as they aren't riding in a group with them.

Maybe that is why some of those guys weren't looking forward to having you join their ride. Make a good example and ride at their pace
