Think he would have survived with a helmet?

Sometimes it makes no difference at all, just curious about this one...

I ride all the time and I always wear a helmet and an armored jacket or leather. I also ride with MC called the Rough Necks and no matter what you need to wear gear.

"Think he would have survived with a helmet?"

I think the trauma to his 'head/skull' would have been 'less' with a helmet.

I don't know. I've seen so many situations that defy logic I don't even try to make predictions anymore. I hung out in the emergency room when they were working on him and it looked like things had stabilized, even though he had a lot of injuries.

I've been keeping an eye on some research papers that have been published by the DOT that presents some evidence that above certain speeds helmets may do more damage than preventing it. It has something to do with helmet weight and increased loads on the neck and spinal column during a crash.

I will venture to say that I've done way more cruiser fatalities than sportbike fatals. I believe that helmets + gear lessens the severity of the injuries barring no contact is made with a fixed object.

Lately, I have seen many riders without helmet or they are using their helmets as frame slider or tank warmers... I really would like to get off and tell them what F-ing morons they are... Some will never learn, and if they do it will be in heaven

If the Benz cut him off, then continued down Memorial, I doubt the driver even knew what he caused. Both at fault, nonetheless.

RIP.

A deliberate act by the cager, so I hope they find him and nail his *ss.

Ticket time?

Riding without a helmet is still an offense unless they can show proof of health insurance OR a the basic/advanced riders course. Proof of health insurance can be just an insurance card. If they dont have that then they must have a copy of the MSF Card with them. The M endorsement alone isn't proof of taking the safety course.

That DPS sticker that goes on the plate will satisfy all of these requirements.

Q for Popos: Any way they can check the cameras at the Memorial/610 Feeder traffic light?

^^^^
Transtar doesn't record their freeway cameras. The red light cameras only work when you run the light. supposedly.
