Ok guys, I'll have the backroads map posted up for us as soon as I get home. At max, we might see 20-30 minutes of freeway. lol

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, it might be a LONG ride up there, but it'll be a blast.

Forwarning if I'm leading this trip, I'm going to be riding at the speed of the most conservitive rider. This is meant to be a FUN trip, a SAFE trip, and one thats enjoyable. Theres nothing enjoyable about riding over your skill level.

Everyone cool with that?

just a suggestion. might want to keep that map pm only. other people, including LEOs could be reading. I usually keep address, exact routes, exact speeds, phone numbers, ect to pm only.

perhaps a constant 90mph trying to avoid triple digits.

Minimum on teh tripple digits. 70-80ish depending on the roads, some higher, some lower. I wont be doing any HARD cornering, just because I want the whole group to feel safer.

Lets do this.

I have the route made up, from Meeting point, all the way to destination point (Doc's Motorworks).

I honestly think we need to start around 8:00-8:30AM. Meeting on 290 would be an ease for others involved as well. There will be 3stopping points, more of needed.

Lets start a list, so I can get PM's out.

Before adding to the list, make sure 8AM is doable for you...

You know that means we wont get to Austin until about 2, eat, then wont probably leave for Houston until about 4-4:30....

I'm all for a good ride, just gotta ask yourselves if you want to be on a backroad at night after 6-7 hours of riding...

Who'd you pass out flyers to? People you know?

thats correct

thats correct, i had already put something into motion but was wanting a really good turn out. and i keep hearing about how MH people are always down to ride... so i thought i would test the waters and see what happened... dont get me wrong, i can see now that i should have just started here with the idea... "next month".. lol! i want to start having a ride to some location the last saturday of each month.. at least that way everyone knows there will be a group going somewhere if they want to go...

as far as this Austin ride goes, i dont mind tweeking the details at all but.. i would like to hold the time and place were leaving from so that i didnt false advertise to those who might have heard it from a friend of a friend kind of thing..

and i had originally set it at 8:00 and was told that a lot of the younger riders probably wouldnt go because of the time.. so i was just trying to accommodate everyone..

i do appreciate all the input and effort you guys are throwing in on this.. this is the kind of participation i've been looking for.

Sounds like fun, my bike is going to be down for scheduled maintenance between now and then so hopefully it'll be back and running by the time this rolls around. Back roads then freeway back sounds fine to me, but I've never really done that many freeway miles in one sitting so who knows.
