B. After a 15 year lay off, I am not ready for spirited, I prefer easy / moderate.

C. I, personally, can only do Saturday.

If there is anyone out there, or group, that would like to head this up, I would be grateful and 110% in!

If not, that's cool, I will explore!

Thanks!

I just did that road this last weekend, and am planning on going again saturday with a ninja 250 group! Its FUN

Here is my route. For the most part it avoids the main drags and stick to the backroads. Less cops less traffic if you go early enough, and still some relatively curvy roads.

1. Starting point is 2920 / Kuykendahl.
2. Go north on 2920 to Hufsmith Road. Make a left on Hufsmith to 2978. There are a few good turns on Hufsmith, seen a few crashes there.
3. Make a right on 2978 going north. Go about 2 -3 miles (??) and make a left on Dobbin Huffsmith Rd. Follow Dobbin Huffsmith to 149 Spur Rd.
4. Make a right turn on 149 and go north 1 mile to 1488.
5. Left on 1488 (passing Magnolia HS), go across the tracks, make left on 149.
6. Take 149 north, make that right @ the RR tracks and follow it all the way to 105.
7. Fuel up at the texaco.
8. Continue north on 149.
9. Ride thru the SHNF and make a stop at in Richards at one the 2 gas stations there. One of them has good coffee and breakfast.
10. Continue on 149 all the way to Anderson, 149/90 intersection. (Nice meet up point after all those straights.)
11. Make a quick left then right and continue north on 149.
12. When you hit 3090 follow it further north. (if you make the left you go to Navasota.)
13. Do the 3090 thing until you hit 244 at the summit. Another nice meetup spot is here. Gravel shoulder ont he left side.
14. You can take make a left on 244 to that grill in Carlos. Get there early! Before the cruiser guys clog it up.
15. Take 244 back to 3090 instead going this time to Navasota.
16. Make a left on hwy 6 service rd to 105 and make a left back under hwy. Gas stations on both corners. Time to fuel up again.
17. Take Hwy 90 west back to Anderson, to 2819. 2819 then turns into 1774 very quickly.
18. Take 1774 south all the way to 105, back near the RR tracks. (This is where you made the right turn earlier to get to Richards.)

19. Pretty much take the reverse route back to Kuykendahl / 2920.

About 5 hr trip with stops, breaks, fuel and lunch. Somewhere around 200 miles.

That hits most of the good routes in the area. On number 2 did you mean go north on Kuykendahl instead of 2920?

I mapped it out in Google so I could use it at some point.

Saturday rides work for me, but I'll be in Colorado this weekend.

I haven't been to that Yankee's place, is it good?

He may be a cop, but you're fooling yourself if you think that the cops don't know what roads the sport bikes hit out there.

No I am aware. In fact we know all too well from last weekend out there. Yankee's was fairly good too, they just take forever.

Depends on what time yall head out. I have to be back in Spring by 1:00 pm to get ready for work. I can always cut out early if need be.
Haven't been on a group ride since '06. People started crashing and it began to be a hassle.

The trick to the Google maps is to copy the "Link to this page" on the upper right of the map. Copy and paste that link wherever you want it. I usually paste that link into a new window and then bookmark it so I have a copy of the rides that I go on for future reference.

When building the map, to keep the map from getting jumbled up, I usually right click and "add destination" every time you change major roads. If you drag the route itself over to other roads too many times, the map can get all screwed up when you go back to the link. Adding a lot of destinations saves the route much more reliably. If not, you could just pm me and I'll whip it up for you real quick.
