Anyone seen the black-hpd bike?

No not talking about our resident stunters...

I-45/Airtex I saw a solid black bike... sport-touring style, Blue & Red flashing lights on the front side of the mirrors. Small HPD emblem on the
side of the tank. Officer(?) all in black.

HPD going with a more 'stealthy' mc unit or something else?

I'd like to see motorcycle cops start wearing proper gear. They give squids a hard time (and rightly so) for dangerous riding but they're not setting very good examples themselves with their lack of gear.

Logan5, its not that. They are REQUIRED TO wear the company uniform and as the motorcops have their origination traditionally from the Mounted division, they were traditional uniform that a mounted police officer would were. More PD are moving towards full gear, and modular helmets, but the US is very slow in recognizing this....

Just send a complaint to PD headquaters and maybe if enough people start doing it, they'll let their people wear full gear.

I saw a pair of scooters ridng down Wallisville and when I got close enough they were HPD!!!! LOL!! I saw the rider rider next to me checking my bike out but what really got me was the male rider of the pair. Big 260 pound guy on a little Kymco scooter or something close to it...
The reflective vests they were wearing had *RAPID RESPONSE TEAM*

haven't seen that yet. But I will say that its a mixed bag. Each bike is personally owned and insured. The dept gives an allowance for maintenance and use. We have HD Road Kings and Honda Goldwings making up about 90 % of the solo units. The about 1 BMW and a few Honda ST 1300's. A few other guys have some other metric cruisers converted over for duty use.
