CMRA Formula 1 race at TWS (Texas World Speedway)

Under almost perfect conditions the stage was set for what everyone suspected would be the race of the day.

Formula 1

Up and comer Dane Westby, who cut his teeth carrying ridiculous corner speeds and lean angles on Suzuki SV 650's, has steadily migrated up the horsepower ladder in recent years and is now a force to be reckoned with.

Dane may one day be the fastest racer in the CMRA, but there is still one hurdle to overcome: Ty Howard!

Displaying a finesse and precision that just gets ever more remarkable every year, Ty is *NOT* slowing down! Seemingly never getting tired of being the proverbial white rabbit to the herd of greyhounds, Ty announced his day by running a 1:44.4 on his Rockwall Honda 600RR!!

Formula 1 was an 8 lap race!
7 of those laps were under the existing lap record of 1:43.0

Reports from the corner workers included multiple reports of lurid, side-by-side, rear end slides as both riders tried to put every hp down to the asphalt!!

If you missed it, you missed one of a race! Dane was leading Ty out of the chicane onto the banking! But the crafty veteran dug deep in his bag of tricks and pulled a daring move that would have made Duhamel proud and crossed the checkered flag first!

New TWS (Texas World Speedway) track record: 1:41.9

The depth of talent within the CMRA is staggering. If you wish to become a better racer you should aspire to race with and against the most talented racers. This is and shall remain to be the CMRA.

Next race is Hallett. Dane Westby's "home" track!

Nevermind that Ronnie Hay scored an awesome win in Heavyweight twins Expert, beating out Van Blaylock. Ronnie on his mighty Aprilia and Van Blaylock on a 1098s.
GREAT JOB RONNIE!
