Write Up Section?

What do ya'll think about putting a write-up sub-forum under the techinical section? It falls under Performance & Mods, but I think it'd be nice to have a sub section for detailed write-ups that people can add. Things such as Changing Oil, Servicing Chain(lube & adjust), Installing exhaust, Synching Carbs, etc etc etc. It would be good for the noobs and everyone else that needs a good pictured explanation of how to do general maintenance and other modifications that they have never done before and would make finding the threads much easier. Anyways, voice your opinon

Great idea

I was trying to think of a way to split up preventative maintenance and mods but I didn't want to it to be even more sub-sections. Just sticky the basics.

I think if we are going to sticky stuff, it needs to be general, with good step by step pics and explanations. Like carb sync, clean/lube/adjust chain, stuff like that.

That way we don't end up with 3 pages of PW threads stickied.

IIRC, this was tried in the past and failed.

I personally think the search feature is way underutilized, as evidenced by the multitude of topics that get repeated every couple of months, especially in the "how to" sections.

I agree with dvlracer. I have seen some complete write ups (with pictures for good measures)on other forums that are very informative yet entertaining at the same time. be it for projects or preventive, it always makes for a good read and view.

No one will read it. They'll just post up and ask the same exact question that was answered in the stickied topic. The same people don't know how to use google. I don't know how they even found this site. Lol.

if the How-To section was used enough it may be a good idea but like mentioned above there wont be enough traffic and worth the hassle.
