Bike(s):
2007 H-D Nightster, 1974 Triumph Trident

Nitrous

Anyone have experience with nitrous, in their bikes that is? I'm maybe interested in putting it on my Nightster, because, like most harleys, performance is not first priority and I'd like to have something to give it a kick in the sometimes. Not wanting to get wild, just a little quicker sometimes.

a small shot probably would not hurt, remember a 100 shot on a bike is pretty substantial. it will probably take more time and money to do it right than it will be worth on a bigger bike as power to weight ratio is so different. Best advice from an ex-cruiser ride, sell it and get a sport touring or full streetbike, my wife loves my fz1 better than any cruiser i've had

do it, the evo motor is a fckin hoss, if you screw up and do to big a shot, start small, but anyways, the most that will happen is thta you build to much cylinder pressure and pop a head gasket, not very likely though. I've boosted mine at 15# boost before and its on a big bore 1200 with 10.5:1 compression.
When it was a stock motor, I ran it at 15# boost a couple times and it was happy no problems, stock gaskets etc.

I have an NX kit here I was thinking of installing on my motor also.
moral of this story, dont be a p ussy, do it, you will grin so hard your face will hurt.

yeah, so what, if your not living on the edge, your taking up to much room.
seriously, if you tune it correctly, nx is way safe to use, I ran it on my street car with 25# boost and 100 shot on a 4 cyl. it was happy with a 10# bottle every fri and every sat. night for a waaaaay long time, and we sold that car at 30K miles still running strong.

poor advice and who cares what type of bike yer' wife likes to ride on.

The Harley motor he has can be made to smoke many a metric no doubt. and yup, hes starting with a lot less HP and a heavier bike, but he also didnt say he was wanting a bracket racer, just something to add a little more zip.
He can tune that motor to raise all kind of if he wanted, remember its not just about getting to 14k rpm's, it about developing assloads of torque.
