CRF 50 Gearing?

I just wanna go fast, but don't know how tall I can go...

It FEELS like it could go +1 in the front or down 2 or 3 in the rear, but I dunno.

Its basically stock, just a pipe on 'er...

Thanks!

when i had my 50. (it had an 88 kit) i dropped 3 in the rear. made a noticeable difference. at high speed the bars got pretty shaky though. i wouldn't drop anymore especially on a stop motor. its going to take you a year to get to top speed.

Zero racers are on stock crf50/xr70s. I took my stock 70 out there once and they eat me up!

I'll help you install the 88 kit and other 'go fast' parts if you want. Let me get a list together for you.

A 50 with at least an 88kit would be Ok. It's 30lbs lighter than the XR70. 12" wheels would be a bonus. Might get cramped though.

Actually, I'm not sure if 12" will fit stock forks or swingarm. They sell a +4 swingarm for the 50 but it's about $350. Suspension upgrade would be good too ($$$$ though). Rear shock and fork kit will run you at least $460 + though.

a 124+r or a 117 rh maybe a 108 rh. the little 2 strokes are going to eat up the 50's on the straights.

I have a stock 70 front end. One of the forks are bent but can be straightened. If anyone wants it PM me and I'll sell it to you.
