Bike(s):
lookin for my ride still

Which beginner bike is best suited for me

I took the MSF course about 1 week ago, I have been doing research on which bike that I want and I have settled on a Kawasaki ninja 250. I have a couple of offers from a couple of friends of mine(all bikes are in running condition) but I dont know which one I should take, so motohouston, which one would you get?

1st bike: 2001 Green ninja 250R
mileage: 28xx miles
location: in Dallas
damage: dropped once, scratches on bottom and front cover, in need of a good cleaning, mirrors are taken off because not fitting properly?(the guy still has then but has not put them back on)
asking price: $1700

2nd bike: 2006 yellow ninja 250R
mileage: 45xx miles
location: in the apartment complex down the street from my old high school
damage: dropped once, scratches on handle bars, cracked front cover, VERY small dent on top of tank(only visible because he pointed it out to me)
asking price: $1800

3rd bike: 2007 blue ninja ex 250
mileage: 13xx miles
location: Kingsville
damage: dropped once, rash on bottom ferring, dent on left side of tank, broke the right mirror
asking price: $2300

Please help me out, they are waiting on my prompt response because they want to sell it right away and are waiting on me or else they will sell it (its good to know a couple of people)

Well since all three need work I would go with the 2nd bike.

2006 is still a really new bike and it seems to be in pretty much the same condition as the other two.

4500 miles isn't bad especially if your planning to learn on it for a few months and move on to a 600 or something.

Good luck and be careful

2nd one.... as most don't know a lot about the ex250... and the 250R seems to the popular ride and you will be able to sell it faster...

2nd one and see if he'd be willing to meet you at Motorcycles Unlimited with it.

Patrick (Motorcycles Unlimited) will do a visual inspection and test ride for free.

Good Luck!

Okay, maybe I am wrong but I never heard of it, so I googled it, and it appears they look alike, but not sure about it... just never heard it...

I have # 3. I'd recommend the newer just cause i have it... no difference really though, cheapers better! lol . Just offer $1900 though per the damage and i'd bet they'd take it....maybe, wish?

let me know when you start riding and we could go riding together sometime.... on MATCHING NINJA's! Lol...

read up a ninja250.com FAQ for AMAZING AMOUNT OF INFO. Don't join the forum though, they are terribly rude and flame almost nonstop. The FAQ is one of the best on the web though.
