have some questions...need some answers bad!

What is hot for a bike? I have a temp gauge on my gsxr600 and sometimes what it reads seems hot to me....what is hot? Also if it is running hot how can i cool it down? It is missing the right ram air tube but i wouldnt think that would make a huge differnce on temp wise...i did ride it from chicago and it was fine...although i was going like 80 or so and air goin that fast might have compensated.
Also anyone ever painted a bike before? is it hard? thanks
Also last question....sometimes when i go from 1st to second through nuetral i cant seem to make it go in to second...it will give me a metal shutter sound and i have to use my heel to pull it harder up in it...then other times it is perfect....im not sure why this is and maybe its because i am just not shifting right but need some advice. Thanks guys

yeah the temps seem to match my 04 gsxr 600. it gets up to 220 on a hot day in traffic and then the fan kicks in. im at 187 crusing on the hwy

If i recall right above 230 you're supposed to shut it off and pull over to let it cool off. this hasnt happened to me though

my cbr 1000 gets to 225 on a hot day in traffic. On the freeway it stays at 180. The fan kicks in at 218.

my R6 usually at a stand still light in Houston weather will run up to around 225... but if you bike hits 235... shut if off and wait for it to cool down...

the shifting doesnt seem out of place as Bao said
