As far as the pain goes, THIS HURTS now.. Ten times worse then earlier.. Over time it just kept getting more painful.. On the ride home, I was in pretty severe pain..
I had my ACL rebuilt, and both meniscus repaired. They took part of my hamstring to replace my ACL which meant a longer recovery time. Had the surgery in 05 and am finally getting back to "normal" mind you it will never be truly normal. I am still supposed to wear a brace when I skate or run... But I am riding and that was my goal.
After surgery I was put in a full leg brace for a couple of months without being able to walk on my leg until they gave me the ok to unlock the brace. which only took a month or so, If I remember correctly. The pain of physical therapy was horrible but if you take pain killers you will do fine, I chose not to. Let me know if ya need anything.

BTW: its MCL (medial collateral ligament).
You are right its MCL. I misunderstood the doc.

I was out for a year because of a follow up surgery to repair the meniscus again. They gave me a choice of cadaver ACL or use my own hamstring. You can read up on it online also. My Dr. was from Baylor and amazing, ask your Dr. if he has a website. They usually can give you links as to where you can find info.

Just kidding - Sorry to hear about your knee - I thought I got the worst of it... but i'm not having to have surgery! Sore as , and my right hand swelling up pretty bad though...

what did you hit with your knee anyway - something on the bike, or on the ground?

I saw the ground coming, but that was it... I think the bike flipped over me after I got flung off ahead of it - cause it landed further from the road than me... probably would have been a great video!

have you wrecked before that bad?
