next you'd have togo "real court' and prolly wouldn't be worth the $, you'd win, but theyr'd be no way to collect.

and i guess your cuz didn't have uninsured motorist insurance?
Texas is $10K now - but +1 to probably never collecting.

not sure about the specifics but I've been told there is a way to put a hold on the license so they have to pay your buddy for the damages or license is revoked...maybe look into that for the long term...short term looks like it sucks.

Sorry to hear it man.

My mom got hit by an uninsured driver in the late '70s. The kid paid like $15 a month for years, then the payments finally stopped coming. Several years later she got a check for the last little bit of money with apologies from the guy.

What amazes me after seeing this bike is this guy walked away with a few scratches and being sore for the next couple days. He was hit pretty hard!

Get you a lawyer that gets paid if you win. Which you will. Quit around before you exceed the time you are allowed to file against them.

never reject the Uninsured Motorist liability...it is soooo cheap and the deductible is usually small ($250)

total damages are 2200 bucks. Were not taking him to court were just going to have a lawyer send him a letter and maybe we will get lucky.

Good luck with that. Maybe it is only $2200 dollars but, I can think of a lot of things that can be done with that money other then fix a bike some one else wrecked.
