He should have bought a Busa instead of that crappy 600RR. He could have had a much better crash, and you could have made a much better vid! j/k

I was wondering how many I would read before you were blamed. The same thing happened to me when a noob rode with me. He went down and I posted it. People were blaming me like I told him to go straight through a turn.

Sounds like sixshooter understands what happened, but someone else didn't.

I'm missing something here, maybe... did this guy have a license? Insurance? Had he not taken an MSF Course? Had he ever navigated a corner at all? Was he really only going 40 mph, or was he trying to keep up (or catch up)?

The thing that bothers me is people think riding a motorcycle is just something you can just do without any training. Heck - riding a bicycle takes a bit of training if you've never ever ridden one...

This is really unfortunate - glad he's okay! The bike can be fixed. Get some training!

I don't think anyone is trying to place blame on anybody, but the fact is that he shouldn't have gone to the forest on his first or second ride unless it was to be doing the speed limit or slower. You told him not to keep up through the first turn, but he obviously tried to. I still think the only one to blame for your wreck is yourself, no matter how long you've been riding or what your experience level is...

That being said, you should've led by example and gone the speed limit and nothing more so that he could learn and not get worried about being left behind. I say just chalk it up to lessons learned and move on, but remember it next time you take a n00b out. Just my .02.

No MSF, from the other thread sounds like he has an "M" permit, and just got the bike.

wasn't the first, won't be the last....and as much fun as backroad runs are, one should know better than to take a total noob out there, let alone "taking off" and expecting them to just putt around the corner.....149's not the place to teach.

He was going anyway, no matter what I said.

Blame me all you want, but the fact of the matter is, I am sure if I was not there he would have gone down harder. I do believe he was doing 40ish, which is 10 mph over the posted speed. in the video, I was at the second turn when I saw him go down.

happens.

Then again, he might not have... or are you telling us that he has only ridden the bike in your presence prior to this? W/o your presence he might
have taken it more sedately or been more cautious/attentive to how he was riding.

Blame you, no... call you a 'bad' 'lead'? Yes.

...yep ' happens'...

a lot of ' happens' due to the negligence and failure
on the part of others. <shrug>
