Glad your friend is ok and can still ride.
+1 Not just newish, but seems to me like this was his first ride... 2 days after he purchased his 1st bike... a 600RR. He shoulda just been takin it around the neighborhood, or local only.

+2 on glad he's ok.

Well, at least you didn't let him go out alone... it coulda been worse. And good thing there wasn't a cage on the other side, either... coulda been much worse.

I am glad to see your buddy is ok.

Good luck with your new track if he really does decide to stop riding.

First bike, first ride? Don't know how you would expect him to know what his pace is. He's going to key off of you. Not knockin on ya, but you didn't do him any favors taking him out there and showing him a turn at almost triple the posted safe speed. Regardless of whether he begged you to go or not. He should have been spending his time in an empty parking lot or neighborhood streets.

i agree with ogre, i been on noob ride when i was a noob, and everyone, even the leader does the noob pace. you cant just bring a noob out there, especially the forest, and go ok, imma do my pace, you do the speed limit. not gonna happen. plus if you went slower, he can follow your lines.

My thoughts exactly. That's what sucks sometimes about noob rides, but if you tell someone you are going to take them out at a slow, relaxed pace, then you should stick to it. He obviously had no idea how fast to go and was keying off you.

i wouldnt let it scare him away from riding, i rode with a guy i went to highschool with for the first time(i could tell he didnt have much experience) and one of the first turns he went straight off the road(he claims him brakes didnt work then slide once he hit the grass) but i never saw a brake light, probably target fixation once he started nearing the edge of the road, rebuild it streetfighter if you have to then take it to a parking lot and show him a few things
