Saddle Soap vs Leather Lotion

I talked to a local leather goods store, and they told me to use Leather lotion for my leather jacket, however, everyone on here seems to use Saddle Soap. The leather goods store, said that Saddle soap will dry out leather much faster, and by using leather lotion, ill get my jacket the reshine it was before, and moisturizing lotion part will keep it from cracking when I wear it in the sun. So which one should I use on my jacket? ( I know Im a super noob to this and i want to be careful with my jacket because it costs a couple of bills)

Any info would help. thanks in advance
