I think the one piece offer more safety and comfort. I hardly ever ride on the street and on the rare occasion I go for an "enthusiastic" ride I have no problems wearing my one piece suit.

When I started doing track days years ago, funds were limited and i got a two piece with a full circumference zipper so I had a jacket as well as a suit.

If you already have a good jacket, get the one piece.

thanks, that is kind of what I thought. I just don't know if a two piece would hold up if ur sliding at a100 mph...(hope that never happens)

i never crashed that fast in mine. it held up ok to a couple slower crashes. I figure if the track day/racing organizations allow them and the leather companies put their names on them there has to be some level of safety.

I do like my one piece better though.

For the street, 2-piece. Once you get sweaty and have to pee, it ain't easy wiggling out of a one piece.

As long as it has a full zipper, the 2-piece should be fine. Plus you can mix and match ventilated for those hot days.

One of my team mates races with a two piece, he's had a couple get-offs and they held up just fine. As long as they have a full circumference zipper, it's all good.

If you plan on doing any street riding, I would certainly consider the two piece over the one piece.

Whatever you decide, don't go cheap. Get a good suit!

you get what you pay for. Go to a lot of shops and try on a few to see what fits. Just like clothing, not all companies have the same cut suit.

I found a one piece a lot more comfortable than I expected, along with a strong sense of safety and security. But not economical at all for streetriding. Consider things like bathroom brakes, carrying cell phone, wallet, i-pod, keys etc. (my bike keys are not attached to house and truck keys).

I've been using my 2-pc for the street and the track so far...but I have a 1-pc on order!

do you zipped the two piece together before getting in, or do you put the pants and jacket on seperatly then zip them together?

2 Piece is good - you can easily take the jacket off during breaks and you can wear the jacket by itself on the street. Also you can get a perforated jacket and non-perforated jacket for when it's cold or hot.

www.ridegear.com if you are looking to purchase new.. they have good alpinestars and teknic closeouts.

Seperately. But if you aren't very flexible you might need to have someone zip the jacket to the pants for you. (I am able to do it myself).

Most are pretty easy to zip while you have them on.

Make sure you get perforated, no matter what. The "cold" times in Texas are only a couple days, while the "hot" days are really hot for a long time!

I have a 2-piece Joe Rocket Speedmaster suit (don't think they offer the jacket anymore) But it's done great, ~80-90mph get off at TWS (Texas World Speedway) & a couple of other lowsides & all I've needed was a little leather repair where areas got weak looking. I got the two piece 1) cause I couldn't afford the 1 piece at the time and was able to buy the jacket, then the pants later 2) I do back roads street riding & 3) I'm short & stocky-my inseam is shorter than my current waist size ha-ha-ha so for a 1pc I think I'll have to go custom leathers.

Dean you know at least for some period of time you're going to be doing a lot more street riding than track riding. 2 piece suits are intentionally made to fit a little more comfortable because they are usually worn for longer periods of time and for more than just sitting on the bike. Plus a 2 piece will be a little cheaper.

If I did 90 percent of my riding on the track I'd go with a 1 piece, but I definitely do 90 percent of my riding or more on the street. Some of which I know won't be very spirited so I just wear my leather jacket, some will be spirited so I wear the whole suit, then some on the track where I wear the whole suit. I haven't heard of anyone having a problem with a two piece coming apart sense they started making the full circumference zippers. But you might want to do your own inquiring about this.

Make sure you go talk to Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited 281 444 0545 before you make a final decision.
