which course substitutes for defensive driving?

If you get a ticket and want to get it dismissed for defensive driving which motorcycle course qualifies? And do you need to do anything other than request to take defensive driving?
Thanks

You'll need to be sure the judge/court has approved a motorcycle safety course in lieu of defensive driving. Some courts do this automatically in the paperwork you receive, others you'll have to call the court clerk and request it.

After that, either the Basic RiderCourse (BRC) or Experienced RiderCourse (ERC) will work. Remember, to take the ERC you MUST have a VALID motorcycle license before class begins.
