Three dead in auto accident
Thursday, April 03, 2008 | 10:38 PM BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX (KTRK) --

Three people were killed in an auto accident in Brazoria County. The accident happened on Farm Road 523 near Lake Jackson. We're told it happened around 8:30 Thursday night and involved a motorcycle and a Jeep Cherokee.

The Jeep supposedly turned in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then hit the Jeep on the passenger side. The 18 year old on the motorcycle died. A woman in the front passenger seat of the Jeep and her 14 year old son in the rear passenger seat died as well.

Her husband, the driver, was transported to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

RIP... the lady had a heart attack according to another story...

CLUTE — Three people died in a crash involving a sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle in Brazoria County on Thursday night.

The wreck happened outside Clute at 8:12 p.m. near FM 523 and Stratton Ridge Road, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Randy Jones.

A 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee carrying a family of five on FM 523 was making a left-hand turn when it collided with a motorcycle driven by 18-year-old Freeport resident Dustin Lackey, Jones said.

Lackey died at the scene. Two passengers in the Jeep — Guadalupe Sykes, 41, and her son, 14-year-old Alex Polito — also died in the crash.

The Jeep driver, Elbert Sykes, 45, survived but suffered a heart attack later at the hospital, Jones said. His condition was unknown.

Two of Guadalupe Sykes' other children, ages 5 and 8, were in good condition, Jones said.
