i think once you have rode your own bike long enough to were you and say without a doubt 110% that you can ride it to about 50-60% of what it can do your no longer a noob. notice i didnt say 100% because that would be a pro!

but if you can go out on a track and flog your bike and have a blast throwing it around and be able to get rid of the strip then your not a noob

Look at all the noobs up in here.

You start out as a noob then you morphed into a squid then you nearly killed yourself then you look back at all the stupid you did and ride sensibly, defensively, and you wear your gear and obey traffic laws. That's when you know that you are no longer a noob or a squid.

There are three ways officially listed on the FIM web site to graduate from 'noob' status.

1. Set a pole in GPs
2. Podium in GPs
3. Finish in the top five in points in GPs

Unofficially, you can bag three umbrella girls in one race weekend.

when you don't have to ask yourself if your a noob. When you recognize that buying a 1000 for your first bike is bad. When you become one with the bike and I would generally agree it takes about 2 years of street riding to get enough experience to be out of the noob status. YOu'll now when your no longer a noob.

Noob is what you consider yourself. Other peoples opinions or timelines really don't matter. I think once you are fully comfortable at riding and controlling your own bike you can upgrade yourself from noob.

When people call others a noob its usually as an insult. I think you can be a noob in different aspects of your riding as well. I consider myself a noob to wheelies even though i've been riding for many years and feel comfortable on my bike cruising. I would upgrade myself from noob to ametuer in corning since i'm still really feeling out my new bike.

Use your own judgement whether you're a noob or not.

If you base your decisions on type of bike to ride, type of gear to wear, or how fast you should ride on what other people will think, you are still a noob.
