What a sad world we live in! What is even worse is that this happens so often that it really doesn't shock people anymore!

A 14-year-old gave birth to a near full-term baby in a bathroom at a junior high school and tried to flush it down the toilet, police told KPRC Local 2.

Baytown police said the student delivered the child at Cedar Bayou Junior High School, located at 2600 Elvinta, on Wednesday morning.

The baby was born alive, investigators said. Students told police that they heard the baby crying.

Detectives said the baby died when the mother tried several times to flush the newborn down the toilet.

The case is being treated as a homicide, detectives said. Police have not said if the baby was a boy or a girl.

Officials have not released the girl's condition.

Baytown, Texas, is located about 25 miles east of downtown Houston.

This is the second Houston-area 14-year-old to secretly deliver a baby this week.

A fetus was found in a trash bin aboard a Continental Airline jet on Sunday. Investigators determined the fetus was stillborn and the Harris County District Attorney's Office declined to press charges against the mother.

:a ngry7:

just curious as to why one case is being treated as a "homicide" and the other "not pressing charges". i do understand that one was stillborn but are the intentions not the same from both individuals for tryin to get rid of the baby/body? i think its all and off with both of those 14 yr old heads
So basically if i go to River Oaks and leave a funky sofa and a broken tv on the side of the road i can get a citation/community service but if i do this in the Ghetto its fine???
*nothin against the Ghetto i stay in the "untold section"
of the heights

i wouldn't say so much about the 'never being allowed with the opposite , my exgirlfriend and i started going out at 16, i spent the night all the time. her parents just said that all girls slept upstairs and all boys were downstairs, they respected us, we respected them and followed the rules

the girl on the plane had a miscarriage. miscarriage are medical issues not criminal. if the medical examiner determines that the baby was stillborn at birth then no crime has occurred. Many women have had miscarriages in their home, where do you thing the fetus ends up?

The difference between the two is that the girl who had the miscarraige did not know she was pregnant. I am not sure if you are aware of how it looks like when that sack and blood clots come out looks like. I never heard any more information on how far along she was, but far enough to know that the fetus would have been a boy. She is 14, she was scared out of her mind and I can empathize with that because its really hard to ask for help or talk to someome when something like that happens, and in her case, not knowing what just happened with her body. Lets say she got help or she came out with her holding the sack and blood in her hands, imagine what would happen on the plane. This is something she will more than likely never forget and there is no need to add insult to injury. The other girl should be treated for homicide because she killed her baby in one of the worst ways possible.
