someone mentioned dirtbikes. i bought my ttr and the only thing i got from the seller was a statement signed by him with price and vin number

i called the dmv and they told me that was enough to register it if i wanted to

so i believe there are street bikes with no titles if they havent been registered

you

you get the title when you go to the dmv for the first time, i dont think the dealer have it, they get it for you if thats the agreement

Too many to list

If its not stolen NOTHING.
It won't be found.

An MSO is not a problem to register.

It happens when a racer buys a bike from a dealer to only be used for racing.
However this is getting few and far between these days. Nowadays the dealer wants the racer to pay TT&L. Just depends on the dealer and how well the racer knows them. But check the MSO carefully.

from what i understand the way it goes when u buy a new bike the dealer gives u a mso. u then go get a title and they take your mso u also pay taxes. at the same time u will get ur plates and everything. then u go ride.
however, sounds like this guy got his mso but bcause it was a race bike and would never see the street he didnt ever go pay taxes and get his title or license because that would be dumb to pay for somethin you will never use.

that ought to be good

All the paperwork and lack of title, etc aside...

Why would you want something that has been "rode hard and put up wet" every time it was riden?? It doesn't matter how well it's "taken care of" it was more than likely pushed to its limits and then some in a lot of instances...

Its logical to take a street bike and make it into a race bike.
Just not the other way around....
JMHO....

yup. you buy the bike and tell the dealer NO TTL. if you never register it then it's not an issue.

WATCH OUT! NOT SURE IF ANYONE SAID THIS

YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY SALES TAX FOR THE FULL MSRP OF THE VEHICLE.

yes, the bike comes from the factory with an MSO, and someone can tell the dealer they are taking it to another state and will register it in their state on their own. they do this becuase they plan to race it and dont need registration or plates to race. they do this because they dont want to pay 6.25% of $10,000 or whatever the sales tax on the bike would be.

yes, they can give you the mso, you may have to get a statement of fact from the dealer to have the mso corrected to be put in your name, you may have to fudge that one. ultimatly yes, you should be able to get it all legal but you WILL be paying the sales tax for the purchase as the original owner has dodged.

im not sure if in this case they go by current blue book or original msrp, the latter is the case, i would be asking the seller to reduce the sale price to compensate

dont know bout hr but this is my story,.
knew some peeps a while back that hit a train and got a bike. supposedly never registerd because it never made it to th dealership and if ran would should not registered (aka stolen)
but in new orleans people would find sumone in mississippi and use thier address go to the courthouse and apply for reg. you then would have to post an add in the paper for 45 days and if no one claims it thn you can registr it.

now would i do this?
lol up to u dude. its not 100% legit
