I'm the guy that sold him the bike, I have been selling bike's for 6 years, I made an honest mistake, the paperwork was sent to Honda not GE money bank, I called everyone at honda finance to try to get a better rate, but was unable to do it. If anybody has a better answer I would really like to know. I have always tried to be fair and honest, but i'm not perfect, if I could get him a better rate I would! I'm stuck
Well, by rogers statement...the differince in interest would cost him approx 2K... how about take 2k off the price or toss in approx 2k freebies to offset?

Lifetime warranty/maintenace maybe?

One thing that everyone is failing to mention: Sometimes there is some "sweet talkin" involved in motorcycle lending. I know FOR A FACT that Pike has gone out of his way to get financing down to a reasonable number. That being said, every once in a while, the "powers" are not going to agree with what's going down.
I'm sure given the opportunity, he'll make it as close to right as possible. Everyone knows he screwed the pooch, so let's not beat him up over it.
How soon we forget when others do nice, when a screwup is made clear.

10% really aint that bad.
My credit score is over 700 and the interest rate on my new duc was worse than that.

I'd keep the bike if I were you.

I think the dealership should eat the loss in this case. Mistakes happen, but owning up to your mistake or otherwise makes or breaks someone's professionalism.

Not sure about the rules around the third party financing and whether it's binding on the dealer or not (probably depends on whether he is an "agent" of the Honda financing company). If he is, then the financing contract may be binding on the dealer. If there's any contingency clause you may not be able to stick him and if Honda finance company doesn't honor the loan application, then you haven't actually "paid" for the bike, so they may be able to repo it.

I personally would not go back a sign a new contract to correct their mistake at your sole expense. I might be inclined to tell him that I would sign for 10% if they reduce the price by $1,000, give you store credit, or whatever you feel is fair and reasonble in exchange for the additional cost that YOU will incur helping them correct THEIR error. You can alway tell them that if they don't like it that you will happily return their now "used" motorcycle in exchange for voiding the contract, voiding the loan application and returning all fees taxes etc. (i.e., they must make you whole again) along with a letter from them pledging to indemnify you for any losses, claims, etc. steming from this now aborted contract.

If you want to be a hard azz, you can probably engage a lawyer and stick them. Don't let them make you bear the burden of their mistake. They likely have far more ability to absorb the loss than you do.

Good luck!

Roger, it's Tubesday. Was this issue resolved? If so, speak up. There has been some harsh words that could be detrimental to someone's business.

Really, "Wrong!!!"?

Why don't you enlighten me as to how I'm "Wrong!!" about what I said?

This should be a classic.

Roger, I hope you were able to make a good deal at another dealership with another bike. If not, you will be able to soon, these bikes will be a dime a dozen, you'll get your chance.

I haven't participated in this thread because I have never financed something in my life and have no knowledge of the rules around it. But I did read the quoted statement and realized that the salesman just admitted to it being 100% his fault, I think this could greatly help you in you in whatever route you take.

Honest mistake or not, I will not be paying a visit to this dealership anytime soon, nor will I refer anybody.

Thats somebody credit.

Him telling the customer that he will "repo" the bike!!!!
