I tell ya I ride alot of bikes, I own busas, gixxer 1000 and 1098, and I still have a blast on the 250,s and they run FOREVER on a tank of gas, I know Lisa,s gets 70 mpg, they handle great, parts are cheap, and last forever if taken care of

aside from racing the LSTD zx6r, we also race a 2008 ex250 in the cmra mini-endurance series.
it's a ton of fun to race.
it handles alot better than the previous model.
and the brakes are a huge improvement.
it's not very fast, but i think a pipe, gearing, and a jet kit will make a big difference in the way it accelerates.
it's a little heavier than the older ones but it also has 17-inch wheels, so we can get those sweet bridgestones from john hutchinson.
there's no exhaust for it yet, but our bike is currently at m4.
they are using it to build an exhaust system for this bike, so exhausts will be available thru m4 soon.
the stock shock sucks for racing, but i think that it would be fine for the street or track days.
woodcraft will be building some race parts also...rearsets and controls.
and supersprox already has stuff available too.
it's a sweet bike, just like a baby ninja.
we're going to be racing this bike for two seasons, so if you'd like to know the results of our planned upgrades, feel free to email me.

i don't think you can go wrong with a 250, though i've been looking more into the hyosung 250 myself, mostly because i don't see anyone else with them. parts aren't terribly hard to come by, and with the 2 year warranty the dealer has done all the work i haven't done myself (i've customized mine a tad).

the ninja 250 is a great bike, but if you're interested in getting some opinions on the hyosung from people who have owned them, check out . as far as parts availability, Pazzo, HEL, and more than a few other companies already have parts out for them, as well as some smaller companies that have started specifically to support these bikes (

2001 SV 650 (my track ), 2005 SV 650s

I paid 78 a year for my insurance on the 250. I loved the bike, road it for a year before getting my SV and just ask me or Nana ... the 250 is a blast at the track ... sure, we can't keep up in the straights, but I thought I did pretty well in the corners ... well, at least I like to think I did... regardless, I had WAAAAYYYY more fun than I thought I would and by the time 5:00 came around I was sad to leave the track ... but very very tired.
