why do we pay insurance premiums if our employer can sue us for that money after it was paid to us? isn't that why we have extra coverages incase we do need to use the accidental death or dismemberment

i hear you, imo i think we should boycott wal-mart...this company makes millions in revenue a year, and they are going after less than 500k, which this family really needs to take care of their wife/mom.

Walmart = Billions , they should let this one go. Good of the employees? How? It probably hasn't gotten any better for them now so what would this extra 500k do for the employees that they cant do now?! I mean come on this is a Billion dollar Business!

Her situation is sad, for sure, but I'm not sure WalMart is to blame... Their insurance companty initially paid all her medical bills. She was awarded this amount plus more, I'm sure (even though there is not that much left) from the company who caused her accident. No matter who this happens to, the insurance company would have to be paid back. Not really that new. It happens everyday- basically the insurance company won the settlement from the truck's company. :/:

true enough. When I had my wreck part of my settlement money had to go towards paying bcbs back. I had a lawyer and settled with them for .10 on the dollar. So after almost losing my arm....missing countless hours of work and pain and suffering I ended up wit.......$1,500.00. LOL. what a joke huh.

Agreed. Only problem I have is Wal-mart going after more than she has. I wonder if they already spent some of the money? :dontknow: The awarded money for the medical costs should in fact be paid to walmart. I'm sure there was money awarded for pain and suffering etc. that she should be able to keep.

walmart is a horrible company to deal with. my company (before current one) would work with them on their construction projects. they're goal was always to save money. but they would do it in ways thet were not business smart. like buying building components seperately, and hiring cheap labor (use your head) to install the materials. but since they have their own architects they have no quality check system. they approve ANY decision made, regardless of if it's a smart idea. they don't even own the buildings, they lease them. ever noticed they're cheaply made? that's why.
ever sell a product to walmart? read their vendor page on the website. I have seen walmart refuse to pay vendors for MILLIONS of dollars in materials based on their accounting practices. send invoice at the wrong time? they don't have to pay. driver unload at the wrong time? no pay, ect.

never ever do any business aside from buying small from them. they are corporate crooks.
