Aftermarket Fairing Opinions

I need to swap the fairings on my 'busa.

I've been pretty dead-set on a set of OPP Racing's carbon fiber stuff, but with the upper, lower, tail, fenders and Dzus fasteners I'm looking at more than 2 grand - , the tank is like $1700 bucks if I want it all to match.

I was just flipping through a Dennis Kirk catalog and saw some Hotbodies acrylic kits in clear and smoke. I do ride a busa, so I could almost justify the poser points that the clear pieces would afford, but even I thought they were too 'gangsta.' The picture of the dark smoke set looked ok though.

The price is really reasonable and you wouldn't have to paint it. Any opinions on these, or recommendations like for fiberglass and paint as a better option?

I wouldn't really get the clear, but the dark ones look like they might be ok.

If this is like the race bodywork for Hotbodies, it will fit like .

There are not a whole lot of good options for bodywork that are any more affordable than what you got quoted.

You may look at Sharkskinz, Beasley Fiberglass, and Air-Tech, but I don't know if you'll find anything cheaper or as good.

Maeier makes OEM replacement bodywork, and I've used it before. It doesn't fit too badly, but I don't even know if they're around any more.

thanks,

I'm pretty familiar with a lot of the other options, just wondered if anybody knew about this stuff.

I've read reviews on a couple of other forums where people say it doesn't fit really well.

I'm definitely big on quality for anything that goes on the bike and the OPP CF stuff is alleged to be about the best quality CF you can get for the price, and that's probably what I'll end up doing, this stuff just piqued my interest.

Race bodywork ships pretty quick if they have it in stock. It's good stuff.

Good choice, I have a feeling the Hotbodies will be just as crappy as the race stuff they sell.

I have heard otherwise about opp racing. I wanted their carbon fibre bodywork for my r6 but everybody i spoke to told me about how hard it was to put on. and all the extra work it took. I wish those are isolated incidences because i really want them.

Any bodywork is difficult to put on. It's the NOTB.

Aftermarket bodywork, no matter what brand, are difficult to put on.

Then get it, baller. Or try Magical Racing, they make good stuff too.

Like Tom said, aftermarket fairings suck. Get them, be patient, and enjoy all the haters drooling over your .

Not me, dog. I think carbon sucks. I'm probably gonna get Catalyst or Sharkskinz.
