What #'s should i see at the crank and at the Back Wheel? its a completly stock R6 with some cosmetics ( which we all know makes the bike go faster ). I don't want to new enging to be messed up and i'm not getting enough Hp to the back wheel? thanks in advance.

?? The Texas Yamaha Dealership just got one in. I tried calling but got a busy signal. I'm picking it up at 5 after work. Need some help here guys. I can't find on the web only from there site" Ultra-compact, lightweight, 600cc DOHC 16-valve liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder puts out 123 horsepower.
" 123 is at the crank. not at the wheel. I don't want the dealership to tell me everything is fine and it not be. the results will tell if they are lying or not.

not all factory bikes are the same. you can take two identical bikes off the showroom floor, put them on the dyno, and get two different numbers. im no professional, but i would expect a plus or minus 10 horsepower difference from what the factory says it should have. if if was more than that, then i would be concerned. as for the flywheel, i think they have to take the engine out in order to dyno that, but again, im no professional. good luck!!

and just cuz it reaches peak hp, does that mean it'll last? how about 1 yr from now......

and hp also changes w/ type of dyno, temperature that day, humidity, altitude....so many variables.

OMG!!!!! no they didn't Dyno it. said that when my R6 was set up on the Dyno that the botem was cm from hitting the bottem rear tire front bar because its lowerd. and if they would of ran it my Lower fairing would of been shreading. I was like WTF you said you just got a New Dyno, ( this is the funny part) and Rob tells me yea i said that. Its new to us, but i didn't say it was a new Dyno. its ran off preasure, not the new high tech sensor ones. So i just took my bike and rode that night. Wasn't going to let that Ruin my Fridaynight. I still need to run my bike on a Dyno to make sure its within Specs after them doing all this to it. sigh

Yeah really. Just run it, a few horsepower here or there is not going to help you much. Speed is more a factor of the rider not the bike, money you would spend on engine mods are better used for "rider mods" like riding schools, or suspension mods IMHO. I wouldnt do any engine mods to that bike aside from maybe a PC... I think the Yamaha engineers have done a fine job to get 100+ RWHP from a 600cc.

Some engines gain power the more miles they get, especially beyond 5000 miles. During break-in definitely, and for a few 1000 after some still arent to their full potential.

You still wont get to 170 mph... :icon_smil j/k
