Introduction to Motorcycling

Tonight, my neighbors and I attended a very worthwhile course put on by Awesome Cycles in their classroom on Kuykendahl. I have been lurking on this forum and several others for some time trying to decide if I really wanted to and could ride a motorcycle---it all looks like so much fun. My neighbors and I decided to spend the small amount of money to attend the Introduction to Motorcycling course offered by Awesome Cycles to determine if motorcycling was really what we wanted....we had started taking flying lessons two years ago, and after spending several hundred dollars, we decided that flying was not our cup of tea. So, with that in mind, we attended the "short course" and will be signing up for the Basic Riding Course at Awesome Cycles when their offices open tomorrow. The instructors were very helpful and took plenty of time and patience to explain the proper gear to wear, how to operate the controls, etc. I only wish that I had taken my wife along---but I will sign her up for the Introduction course so that she can determine if she wants to ride----then we can ride together and maybe I can get the motorcycle that I want. If you, your friends, or your neighbors have any inkling that the might want to ride but don't want to spend the money on a course and then find that they really didn't want to ride, then have them take this class at Awesome first....then, if they want to ride, take the BRC class at Awesome....the instructors are first class. If all goes as planned, I will be seeing you guys on the roadways in a few months astride my own bike. Meanwhile, I'll continue to lurk here and will be asking for info on my first bike.

Good start there, next year, it's track days!

Good luck with your search for a bike too, you'll likely change your mind 20 times before settling on a certain bike.
I am Tyler Durdin's bad attitude.
