In Texas if he wants to he can bring you to jail, however most times it will just be a ticket. I don't know about other states. Why?

I don't know any cops who will allow you to continue riding without either.

Take the MSF and get your license... it is fun and can be funny and then go to progressive.com and get the cheapest insurance which is about $100 a year. If you can't do those things then don't get a bike. Unless you are going to be a track star. Then you don't need a license or insurance.

$100/year, huh? I wish! Mine is $535/Year with Progressive - whom I'm about to dump for GEICO at $348. Besides, I hear horror stories about riders who have Prog. then when they're up for renewal, Prog. jacks their rates by at least double.

True some cops turn their back but they are not suppost to allow u to ride....BTW my Progressive policy is up for renewal and it's still the same as last years $ 220.00 for a year and that is OTC and Liabilty coverage only... Plus they have gotten better at settling claims in the past few years alot less hassle now...

wow...$13k i would not even ride. sure it is fun, but thats alot of money to throw away into a hobby. or in your case, ride with no insurance, then when you total the bike, you just buy a new one, same price anyways. of course that is not recommended.
