me and chelsea quit almost a year ago...the urge comes around every now and then but goes away within seconds...

we quit cold turkey no medical help gum patches or any of that chit. you got to want to quit...a patch or gum can't give you that feeling or drive, it only masks the urge.

My suggestion...stop hanging with other people that smoke. Not forever but until you can control that urge to a smoke. Stay out of bars for a while. Have some good support of good friends behind you.

Good luck. your lungs and heart will thank you.

I tried several times in the past to quit but doing the above things was what finnaly helped. Oh yeah, my step daughter would cry and everytime we smelled like smoke...that was a factor also

good luck mike. I hate cig. smoke. I realy hate the smell of a person after a cig. I have told people at work to go away because they stink and it offends me. it's also one of the reasons I broke up with my ex. she kept saying she would quit and kept making new deadlines. then she seemed to start smoking more. no thanks, not around me. kising a smoker is nasty.

good luck, ur kids will appreciate it. I would have if my parents quit.

Good luck. My father smoked for 30 years until he had a heart attack (at 50)! He finally quit after that.

mayn, i just started this like 4 days ago. but mine only cost 50 bucks at sams. i wish you all the luck in quitting.

Go Mike! Props for making a good choice for you and the kids.

My wife's grandma died of Emphysema around 2000. Her family used to drive down from Colorado every year (for like 10-15 years) just to watch her grandma slowly die, (Oxygen, Walker, home nurse, etc). It's not something good to put a family through.

Mike to tell u the truth.. the pills are just mind thing..it might give u a buzz.. but will work if u want it to work.... when my father quit.. he craved like wanting something in his mouth.. u know how to pass the time he use to smoke..so he use to chew gum.. almost everyday.. something to keep his moouth busy and not think of cigarrettes.. and then he started walking at the park close by here.. he started seeing improvements in his health.. in 2-3 week ..now it's been i think over a year.. no cigarettes for him... once again GL to everyone who is doing this.

I just pulled this guy off life support in ICU .. whose lungs where so bad ..had to be on life support ..and the condition got so bad.. family decided to make the pt. DNR ( Do not resuscitate ) .. took the pt. off life support and passed in less than an hour.. wat caused all this.. bad lungs.. lead to diff. organs collapsing..
