GSS route from Spring?

I am planning to ride out to GSS this weekend from up on the north side in Spring.

Does anyone have any good route to take that can get me close the Grandsport? I have little to no desire to end up on I-45 through or around town.

Thanks in advance.

Why? It's the weekend and there won't be any traffic. 45 is gonna be the fastest route I would presume.:/:

45 is the only route from spring, unless you wanna jump through hoops and go the extra 20 miles

288 south (however you get there) to hwy 6
hwy 6 east to 45
45 north (just a few miles) to 2004
And you're there!

Doing the trackday???

Actually if you hit hwy 6 at 288, Hwy 6 south will take you to FM 2004 in Hitchcock. Take a right on 2004 headed west and you are almost there. Look for the big concrete towers on the left.

duh... I'm retarded.

The track is about a mile west from the intersection of 6 and 2004.

Alright, guess it's just the main highways then.

I was hoping for some nice back roads or something. I won't be doing the trackday this time around, but plan to ride down and do the parade lap at lunch to see the layout of the track at least.

I run the opposite direction to get to Spring on I-45 almost every weekend. 45 min to 1 hour tops early morning. Evenings not so much fun, but better than a weekday.

If you are really bored and want to extend your trip home, take Palmer hwy toward Texas City where 2004 meets I-45. Go up 146, over the Hartman bridge, then take old 146 (first exit off bridge) to 99/55, then 565 up to 1409 and then North in to Dayton. Then make your way West on 1960. Some cool little roads right there. Look these up on a map, as my directions tend to get people lost. :/:

DO NOT SPEED THROUGH KEMAH!
